Ode to solitude

You comforted me when I was cold

Wrapping your forlorn arms around my heart

On days when I needed company,

You haunted me with a sinister smile

I fail to understand, whether you are a friend or foe

We grew together, surrounded by people

Their lives marked by collaboration and bustle

Ours governed by a silent discourse

There are days I walk along these paths

Observing people living their lives

They dance around the young, help the old

They also steal, kill, plunder and rape

Meanwhile you and I relish a dense camaraderie

An unpolluted adoration, barren of dissipation

Haunt me again tonight, my dear friend

For your despondent beauty grows in grandeur
